Valentine's Day

For Valentine's Day, B took me out to dinner and then surprised me with a new and creative activity to do together. He had everything prepared for us to make our own bonsai plant. We chose a design and cut and formed our own bonsai plant out of an New Zealand tea tree. It is going to be fun to watch it grow and hopefully turn out for us. We have bought bonsai plants before but never made our own.

Playhouse

B's parent's had an old play house that they were keeping storage in that we asked if we could fix up for A to use. We cleaned it out and painted it. It turned out pretty good. It has a small loft that I think is really cute. A, B and B's sisters helped us to paint it and get it ready to play in. Hopefully A will get a lot of good use out of it.

Magic Kingdom

I know this is a big surprise, but we went to Disneyland again. B had to work at USC, so we drove down in the morning, dropped him off and continued on to Disneyland. Usually we leave in the late morning to miss commuter traffic, but since he had to be to work early, we left early and arrived just as Disneyland opened. There were a lot of the characters out for people to pose with and take pictures, so A had a chance to meet some of the characters. She thought it was great fun!

For B's birthday I tried to make a chocolate raspberry truffle cheesecake. While it was cooking in the oven, it kept overflowing and made a big mess, but I still decorated it and we ate it for his birthday. It didn't turn out like I hoped, but I thought that it still tasted good. Next time I have a few things that I'll change on the recipe and hopefully it will turn out better.

New Years

After Christmas in Utah, we went to Big Piney for New Years.
We went ice skating, cross-country skiing and played games.
We stayed in Big Piney for an extra week while B flew to Chicago to help his brother change out his engine in his truck. It was nice to have that extra time to spend with the family.

Christmas

We spent Christmas in Utah. The drive to Utah was nice We spent a few days at B's brother's house and then a few at his sister's house. A had fun sledding with her dad and cousins. We also a couple of nice days of skiing.

The Beach

After going to Sea World and Legoland, my brother and his family came to visit us at our place for a few days. We spent a day at the beach. The water was too cold to swim in, but the kids had fun playing in the sand. We also saw a school of dolphins swim by. That was a nice surprise.

We had a little picnic luch while we were there. We took our camp stove, but forgot matches, so we had to be creative and use our cigarette lighter from the car to light the stove.

Legoland and Sea World

I am a bit behind since the holidays, but I'll try to write about some of the things we've done.
A few weeks before Christmas my brother and his family came to California to visit, so we met them in San Diego. We spent a day at Sea World and the next day at Legoland. We had a lot of fun and A especially enjoyed playing with her cousins. This was our first time visiting Legoland. We usually go to Disneyland, so it was fun to try out a new park.

If you sit down in front of the flamingos, they come over and preen you.

Legoland has some very elaborate things made out of legos.

Legoland had a pirate boat ride where you can shoot water at other boats and people on the sides watching can also shoot you with water. I got pretty wet on that ride. :)
