The Beach

After going to Sea World and Legoland, my brother and his family came to visit us at our place for a few days. We spent a day at the beach. The water was too cold to swim in, but the kids had fun playing in the sand. We also saw a school of dolphins swim by. That was a nice surprise.

We had a little picnic luch while we were there. We took our camp stove, but forgot matches, so we had to be creative and use our cigarette lighter from the car to light the stove.

Legoland and Sea World

I am a bit behind since the holidays, but I'll try to write about some of the things we've done.
A few weeks before Christmas my brother and his family came to California to visit, so we met them in San Diego. We spent a day at Sea World and the next day at Legoland. We had a lot of fun and A especially enjoyed playing with her cousins. This was our first time visiting Legoland. We usually go to Disneyland, so it was fun to try out a new park.

If you sit down in front of the flamingos, they come over and preen you.

Legoland has some very elaborate things made out of legos.

Legoland had a pirate boat ride where you can shoot water at other boats and people on the sides watching can also shoot you with water. I got pretty wet on that ride. :)

Cute Endings

Here are a couple more songs of A singing. The first one is "Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam" At the end she adds the word OK into the song. Ok I'll be a sunbeam for him. The second song is "Book of Mormon Stories." At the end of this song it is hard to hear, but she sings right to sleep instead of righteously.

Friendly Egret

We went to Palm Desert last week. One of the days we saw an egret in the parking lot. He let us come up really close to him. We saw him a couple more times that week. One of the days he was just standing on someone's car.

Noah's Ark Exhibit at Museum

We went to a fun Noah's Ark Exhibit at the Skirball Museum. It is free to go on Thursdays, so we got tickets and decided to go check it out. It was very kid friendly. They had crafts that the kids could do and a lot of hands on activities and exhibits to climb on and in. A had a blast! I think that we will try to go back again soon.

El Paso

A few weeks ago we were in El Paso for a few weeks for B's job. We enjoyed touring around El Paso and trying the Mexican food. El Paso is right on the Mexican border. The Rio Grande is the border between El Paso and Juarez, Mexico. Basically it all just blends into one big city.

We also went to dinner one night in Las Cruses, NM. One of the guys that B works with lives there and wanted us to join him at one of his favorite Mexican restaurants. The area of town where we were has the original building where Billy the Kid was on trial.

On our way to El Paso and on our way back, we stopped by to see my brother and his family. They have a cute home in Arizona. They also don't live too far from the Mexico border, so you see border patrol all the time.

While we were there we stopped by the Coronado National Memorial and drove to the top of one of the mountains where they have a lookout. The road was narrow and windy and I started to get nervous as I drove. Luckily we only had to try to squeeze by one truck. Going down ended up being a lot easier than up. A had a lot of fun with her cousins and was sad to leave when we had to head home.
